About Us

A research intensive academic setting on a First Nation Territory

We are located on the land, which is the unceded territory of the Syilx (Okanagan) People in the Okanagan Valley. The majesty of the Okanagan Valley is well paired with modern facilities, high research productivity, and exceptional learning opportunities. The campus offers a nurturing environment with human-scale class sizes, direct access to professors, and numerous opportunities for being involved in world-class research projects, often in a highly collaborative setting.

In our lab, theory meets experiment and vice versa!

A central feature of our lab's scientific research philosophy is the combined theoretical and experimental approaches we undertake to solve a wide variety of inorganic, organic, biochemical, and physical chemistry problems from the molecular and materials worlds (and anything in between) with real life implications.

Please review the representative skill and expertise list of the laboratory to learn about scientific, technical, training, and service opportunities we engage in.

Our overarching philosophy:

"If you can sketch it - we can model it!"

let that be chemical structures, reaction mechanisms, nanoparticles, periodic crystals, or chemical properties.

Consider working with us!

Please visit us in Kelowna, give us a call, or contact us by email, if you are interested becoming a member of the lab. I claim that we are NtB!AtC (R), which stands for "never the best, but always the choice".

We always consider applications for postdoctoral research associates, graduate students, undergraduate students, and also for high school students.
